Liverpool Stun Inter Milan

Rafael Benitez was under pressure to make his players perform after losses in the EPL. And he did so vs Inter Milan, the reigning champs of the Italian League.

Liverpool was strengthened by the return of Spanish buy from Athletico Madrid, Fernando Torres. Liverpool kicked off, and immediately you could see the change in form of those in red. Liverpool played attacking football, making those in the Inter defence nervous. They had started out with Kuyt as a striker. The stars performed tremendously, passing at crucial moments and making quite a few chances. Inter hearts stopped when a Hyppia kick was just pushed over the bar by Julio Cesar.

But Liverpool failed to capitalise on chances, when a Hyypia pass in the open was missed at the climax. Another Gerrard kick went haywire as the gritty defenders helped the team until half time and beyond.

But the dirty football played by Inter was shown when Materazzi and Ibrahamovic got yellow cards for bad clumsy challenges. The attacking football played by Liverpool strained the Inter players. The crowd was waiting to see would blink first.

It was Kuyt for Liverpool who saved the blushes when a Pennant cross missed Torres as he kicked onto the ground and it passed over Caesar’s head in the 87th minute.

Gerrard doubled the lead when the Inter defenders failed to clear the ball and it went to Pennant, who passed it to Gerrard. He saw some space and swung it onto the right pole for a goal.

Liverpool deserved the win, which puts them at an advantage against Inter for the second leg of the UEFA champions league.

And here's the video!!!
