Latics frustrate Arsenal

Its not the first time, its not the second. Once again the gunners come home with only a point to add to their tally. A 0-0 draw at the JJB stadium for the gunners is bound to excite manchester united as they are yet to play derby at home. To arsenal's defence , the pitch was unacceptably disgraceful. Odd bounces, curves and stretches, fast approaches and disturbing unevenness was the result of the football played on the "mud beach". Wigan did indeed do well to hang onto a draw, but a crucial point for them results in discouragement for the young arsenal side. Wenger clearly did not keep his feelings to himself, claiming the pitch was "horrendous and rusty". Rugby players would find that pitch irritating even though they dont play the ball on the ground as much as soccer players. The performance of our midfielders excluding gilberto was far too sensational for the wigan players to handle, and the defence was brick-like. What we massively lacked was the finishing power as adebayor and bendtner were undoubtfully unable to play their top game on this pitch. What we need to be aware of is that losses to west ham and manchester city can easily lead to at least a draw against derby for united. I daresay the title challenge is not yet over. But the game against the Victors of the previous fixture and the only team to beat us in the premier league this season shall give us a hint of things to come.
