TWO NIL TO ARSENAL!!!! ON YOUR FACE MILAN!!

Arsenal went into this encounter with noone favouring them, and with AC Milan on an overconfident high.

The players from Milan kept showing off and said that they would beat Arsenal, as they are the "Champions".

But who proved them wrong?? Arsenal ofcourse!

Cesc Fabregas and Emmanuel Adebayor both scored late goals as Milan were dumped out of Europe's most important Competiton.

The first goal came late in the 84th minute, with Fabregas swiftly dodging the Milan defenders and firing in a magnificent 30 yard drive past a confused Kalac, who made a valient effort, but the accuracy and class of the strike was so good, it would've gone past any goalkeeper!

Theo Walcott, with his extreme speed, whipped a straight pass to Adebayor from the right wing, who slotted the ball right into the goal in the 90th minute.

It was on this very ground, that Wenger had experienced his finest European win- against Inter winning 5-1.

AC Milan had a host of chances in the first half, with attempts from Plato, Kaka and Inzaghi.
Arsenal too had their fair share of chances in that half, with an effort by Abou Diaby, which was just wide of the goal, and a stunning one by Adebayor, which just went above the bar. The closest Arsenal got to scoring a goal in the first half was with an amazing shot by Fabregas, who smacked the ball only for it to bounce of the cross-bar.

Hleb was unfairly given a yellow card, a terrible decision by the referee. Hleb had the ball, and was just pressing for a goal when Alessandro Nesta made a tackle, forcing Hleb to dive onto the edge of the penalty area. AAH COME ON!! What about that clear foul by Nesta which should've been penalty or atleast a freekick!!

Well, it was clearly a night of great and entertaining football, with plenty of passing, yellow cards, and tackles.

Arsenal now join Manchester United in the next round, who defeated Lyon 1-0.
Chelsea, Liverpool, Schalke 04 and Real Madrid have matches today against Olympiacos, Inter Milan, Porto and Roma.

Here are the highlights, courtesy Arsenalist!!!

1st half highlights

Fabregas goal, 84th minute, 1-0

Adebayor goal, 90th minute, 2-0

(Let's hope we face Barcelona sometime later, then we can show Thierry Henry why his decision to quit Arsenal was wrong!!)

Go Gunners!!!
