The referees were once again not in form, denying Hleb a clear-cut penalty after Kuyt pushed him down. Fabregas got an opportunity to score after Bendtner moved out of an offside position. But when Fabregas put it in place, into the right side of the net, Bendtner, who was moving, came in the way of the ball and prevented it from going in!!! It should've been 3-1!!!
But before that, Arsenal opened it's account via a beautiful header from Adebayor off a Fabregas corner kick in the 23rd minute.
Liverpool equalised 3 minutes later as Steven Gerrard ripped through the Arsenal defence and set up Dirk Kuyt for a diving finish to leave the score 1-1.
