Barca held at home!!!

Misfortune saw a draw at Nou Camp as Manchester United sighed in relief when a draw was the final result here in the UEFA Champions League.

Manchester returned to their place of their 1999 UEFA Champ League triumph, as Sir Alex proclaimed a United victory. But it was not to be.

Both teams brought out their strongest teams as Paul Scholes received his 100th cap amid applause. Barcelona started strongly, only to give Manchester the initiative to go one up in the second minute by means of a penalty.

United winger and star Cristiano Ronaldo took the penalty and it seemed that he would score his 38th goal of the season, but he missed the net by a huge margin, though Victor Valdez leapt in the opposite direction. This gave Barca a mental edge as they tried to score again and again. They were denied a strong penalty appeal, even as TV replays show that the appeal was true. Barca completed the dismal first half, goalless.

The second half was monotonous, as Barcelona missed several chances, through Messi passes and Eto’o misses. The sight was very irritating. Henry brought a slight change as he kicked from the left wing, only to find Van Der Sar’s huge hands. The match ended in a draw, while Barcelona should have won.

But what was funny was that Ronaldo seemed like an amateur, especially in tricking, compared to Barca. One could see Messi dancing past the United defence with ease. Another proof was the dumfounded expression on Scholes’ face as Xavi manoeuvred the ball under his legs and passed it to Messi. Otherwise this match was extremely boring and you shouldn't watch a rerun of this match on TV.

Here are the highlights (boring:P)Courtesy TVGOLO!!
