Liverpool, after winning their quarter finals vs Arsenal unfairly after bad decisions, meant to clean their record with a win against the visiting London team at home.
The match, hyped up by the media, saw Liverpool dominate the first half as Chelsea struggled to hold the ball even for a few seconds! One could see Drogba slipping like an eel all over the place. Liverpool finished off the half perfectly, as Holland international Dirk Kuyt alleviated Chelsea fears with a well placed kick in the 42nd minute.
The second half saw nothing different, as Liverpool easily passed through the Chelsea defence like ghosts. Many Chelsea fans were seen leaving the stadium in disgust.
When it seemed that all was lost, deep in the last minute of extra time, a miracle occurred. Kalou ran across the ground to the left wing, as the referee moved his whistle to his mouth, Kalou crossed to former Arsenal player Anelka, which scared the defence. The low cross nearly went to Anelka, but Riise dived forward downwards, to head the ball to safety, only to see the ball inside his own goal as the referee blew the whistle.
While Liverpool fans will be lamenting on conceding a crucial home goal to Chelsea, it is up to Torres and Gerrard along with the Liverpool team to see off Chelsea. Meanwhile Avram Grant will get ready to scare Liverpool as we are about to witness a mouth watering game at Stamford Bridge!!!!!!!!
